Following preparatory work undertaken by the council and advice of The Consultation Institute, a further period of public engagement commences. This will enable residents to further share their feedback about the Burpham to Guildford Active Travel Scheme.

Public Engagement

On completion of the engagement period an output report will be provided by Surrey County Council's independent partner, The Consultation Institute (TCI). This independent and impartial report  will provide an analysis of the feedback given by residents and stakeholders in connection to the Burpham to Guildford Active Travel Scheme.

Public Engagement Reporting

Following receipt of the independent report on the public engagement, and a consideration of any other relevant information, a decision will be made by Surrey County Council on the Burpham to Guildford Active Travel Scheme and its implementation timescale.

Burpham to Guildford Active Travel Scheme Decision

The Burpham to Guildford Active Travel Scheme aims to provide a safer and healthier way of travelling between Burpham and Guildford. 

We are committed to making Guildford, and its surrounding residential areas, a greener place to live by reducing carbon emissions and deliver on our county's net zero ambition by 2050. Additionally, in keeping with our Local Transport Plan (LTP), we want to ensure our roads are safer and more accessible for children, pedestrians and cyclists, for now and in the future.
